Part One
From Fingers of Bone

The Accidental Legacy of Great Aunt Ellen
We all have that one relative who, for good or ill, changes our life in some major way. Maybe they cheer you on when the going gets tough. Maybe they are the perfect example of what not to be. For Georgina, her Great Aunt Ellen was that relative and the change involved the inheritance of 4 (possibly cursed) acres of land that the rest of the family seemed a bit too happy not to own.
Larry Saves the World
First appearing in Siren’s Call Publications’ e-zine: Terrifying Tales (issue #28), August 2016, this story proves that it’s all about your perspective on a thing.
Under this New Sky
Creating a dream takes a lot of hard work. You have to do your research. You have to apply yourself. Working well with others is a necessary skill. You need to have a solid plan. You also need luck…lots and lots of just the right kind of luck.
Pink Fuzzy Bunnies
The guards of your heart can be fickle beasts.
The Room between the Seconds
First appearing in Siren’s Call Publications’ e-zine: Horror-ific (issue #27) June 2016, this story is a friendly little reminder to take care with what surrounds you. You just might become someone else entirely.
Joey Lester vs. the Devil
Joey Lester is going to save his town. Armed with his Grandmother’s big silver cross, Joey is going to single-handedly drive out the devil infecting the people of his community with a vicious need to spread ugly rumors about his local hero. But is it the devil Joey knows or is he up against something far more dangerous to his soul?
Naked as the Day I was Born
Nora has not led a charmed life. Still, she is loved, which is more than most like her get in their time upon the land. Her mother has always taught her to use what she has been given to the best of her ability…even the parts that drive others away. Nora’s birthday proves that sometimes the only difference between a blessing and a curse is how you apply it to a situation.
Jasper
It’s simple for Jasper. There is love. There is loyalty. There is a time to bite. The complication is in knowing that sometimes the time to bite can mean losing all of the rest.
Witchery
How many spells have you cast without ever even knowing you cast them? How badly have those spells gone wrong? Ah yes, we are all witches from time to time.
Sands of the Desert
Have you ever dreamed of dancing with abandon under the stars? Have you wanted your feet in the sand and the notes of a flute floating through the air? Have you wanted your skin to soak in the light of the moon as the warm air danced over you? Have you wanted it to never end? These five sisters wanted all of that, too.
Why the Baby Cries
First appearing in Siren’s Call Publications e-zine: Fifth Annual Women in Horror Month (issue #31), February 2017, this story centers on the legend of the Cry Baby Bridge and reminds us of why we may want to avoid it on our journeys.
An Ice Cube’s Chance
This little award winner (1st Place in the 2011 Monroe Arts Alliance writing contest and appearing in the first edition of Monroe County Tales) reminds us that hope, just like bacteria and viruses, can be found in the unlikeliest of places provided the right person is willing to pay the price of being the carrier.
The Last Good Things
There is such a fine line between extremes. Success and Catastrophe walk hand in hand discussing the actions of the same person from different angles. The last king of Ishel knows this well. He is the last living soul on his planet, after all. Or, rather, he is until a stranger arrives to share a meal fit for a king as the last of the empire winds down to a wasteland.
Part Two
Allie Bedeviled
Blind dates are always a risk. Allie knew that going into the evening. What she didn't anticipate was her night ending in Hell, missing a slipper, and trapped in a plot to steal the throne. With new "friends" including a smart-mouthed Minion, a cannibalistic clown, and a serial killer of a certain age who smells like cat pee, can Allie stay out of her former date's clutches, avoid the pitfalls of sinister schemes, and find her way home or will she lose everything in a mangled attempt to bring democracy to the underworld?
