The Holloways finished their walk and didn’t panic. They’d been told by a figure of authority not to, which was as good a reason as any not to panic. Anyway, it was just a rabid beaver. Bill didn’t know how big beavers were, but he’d played soccer in college, and knew he could still give it a good boot if he needed to.
“Can we go in through the garage?” he said. “I want to check the trashcans. They only come once a week.”
“I know there’s trash,” she said.
“But let’s check how much,” he said.
