Chapter Thirteen
Set to Sail 

            Marissa had drove her little car too fast down the highway, through a small-town Lilly had never seen, and then down an old dirt road before parking in front of a wooden gate that appeared to block the entrance to nothing. There was no clear path discernable when Lilly first stepped from the car; she assumed they had stopped at a dead end for no reason. The road here was covered in glass shards and scraps of wrappers with bright letters printed on them; Lilly couldn’t use the fragments to form any real words.
