Chapter four

Hurricane Waves

       Lilly and Gavin sat in his car, staring at her house through rain. The building sat idly, but still unseen eyes seemed to stare through darkened windows. Harold wasn't home; Lilly wondered when he would be and if she really wanted to see him. Staying with Gavin wasn't an option either; a chasm sat between them and she didn't want to be the first to cross it.

         She played with a thread on her seat, waiting for him to break the silence that only grew heavier by the second.

         "Are you going in or are we just going to sit here?"

         "Am I unstable? "
