Chapter Nineteen

        I picked up the greeting card that was next in the pile of papers. It's glossy surface dulled and faded with time. The front showed a little girl staring up at the stars from the top of a hill overlooking the ocean.
        Inside, it read, "I smile bigger, laugh harder and think happier thoughts... days are brighter, nights are sweeter, cares are lighter... life just feels easier... I dream dreamier... I'm my happiest, because you're in my world."
        I touched the words one by one as I read them over again. They were still true today, although at the time I felt my world had been torn apart. James did change my life....
