a quick breakfast, he gave his grandmother her required peck on the cheek, and headed off to school.  Every noise or quick movement caused him to start, but the walk to school remained uneventful as Gabriel walked sheepishly through the school’s front entrance.

                      The day dragged incessantly.  He found it difficult to concentrate as his mind continually returned to his drawing and the inexplicable appearance of the patrolman.  He went over the event repeatedly, but grew no close to a conclusion or the meaning of what had happened the night before.  It was an impossible situation, and yet, he had no doubt of the reality of what he had seen.  His drawing had come to life.  Gabriel was not about to let go of the uni...
