Adelynn sighed with relief as she stepped into the cold shower. The heat and grime and stress of having Ryl with her for the last few days all washed away, swirling around the drain before slipping away from her.
Once out of the shower off, she spent the time before lunch enjoying the quiet and solitude of her small room. The walls were a white wood, and the sheets and curtains a deep red that matched the color of the town’s walls - which she could have see from her window, had the covering not been slid in place to keep the heat out.
