Ryl and Adelynn stared up at Neba. None of them spoke. There were no words to encompass the fear and cold reality that the world would likely end soon. That there was no way to kill all the Firewalkers.
Even though Myrna believed it might be possible, Adelynn found herself doubting the Firewalker woman for the first time since she’d met her.
Maybe Myrna is as crazy as the rest of them, she thought. Maybe I’ve been chasing after a mad woman.
“One of our contacts who was in Enadell, though not in the hall when your siblings appeared, arrived here half an hour ago,” Neba said, breaking the silence and switching to a new topic. “He reported to us that Mishal is still alive. He somehow escaped your siblings and is more insane than ever.”
