Adelynn spoke quickly as soon as the door closed.
“Ryl, do you still have the stone?”
Ryl blinked a few times before understanding dawned on him.
“Yeah,” he said shifting in his chair, then taking a deep breath before standing up.
He seemed unsteady on his feet but he took one wobbling step, then another, moving slowly to the other side of the room.
Adelynn saw that his bag was laying there, many of its contents scattered about on the floor. With great effort, Ryl knelt on shaking knees and began to rummage through his items. It took a long while before he he produced a jar filled with a dark concoction.
