Everything burned. Her arms, her face, her feet. Every inch of skin on Adelynn’s body felt tight and painful.
“Is this what it’s like to be a Firewalker?” she murmured and the words echoed around her head. She wondered if she’d only thought the question or if she’d spoken it aloud.
Is anyone around? She thought, making sure not to move her lips this time. Then, more frantically, she wondered: Where am I?
