“Should we put her back to sleep?” one of the Firewalkers said in a low voice to the others. He was the tallest of the three, towering over the two females who stood on either side of him.
“She’s still in bad shape,” one of the women said, eyeing Adelynn. “More sleep wouldn’t hurt.”
The other woman shook her head. “No, we were told to keep her up if she awoke.”
Adelynn felt sick. Her stomach was lurching, her head spun, and her entire body was in pain. She tried to swallow, but found her mouth was dry. So she just stared ahead at the three Firewalkers as they gazed at her, speaking to one another as if she weren’t conscious.
