“We will stay here,” Neba declared, her face upturned as she studied one of the buildings on the outskirts of the Firewalker settlement. “It is an inn of sorts - a place for Firewalkers to take refuge from the heat of a flare. Much like you humans do.”
Adelynn raised an eyebrow, but didn’t say anything.
Neba, somehow sensing Adelynn’s unspoken question, replied: “Yes, the Firewalkers have taken note of the few clever ideas that humans have had over the years. We do not need to hide away indoors during a flare - but many prefer it. This is much more...comfortable...than waiting out a flare in the semi-sleep of hypnogogia.”
