cornfield, Old Joe is on the other, and Sara is in between. As Old Joe takes aim with his gun, the child becomes angry, and his powers begin to manifest - with Sara being caught up in them too. As she tries to calm him by speaking to him in a soothing manner, Young Joe realises that the impending death of Sara is the event that inspires the child to become The Rainmaker, and so Young Joe shoots himself to death, instantly causing Old Joe to disappear, and the child to calm down without killing Sara.
