In discussions about feminism, and sexism in society, it is common to hear the question, “But, where does this conditioning come from?” It can be quite challenging to wrap your head around the idea that every aspect of society – from the international news, to our education system, to organised religion, to healthcare, to global politics, and to entertainment – is infected with gender bias, which centres men and marginalises women. But, it has to start somewhere, right? I mean, all of those social constructs are created by human-kind, which means that gender-biased people have perpetuated and cemented misogyny in society.
