It is entirely unnecessary, though. In a film featuring a stone that grants wishes, a person who is centuries old and can move faster than bullets, and a person who turns into a big cat, the return of a dead man is not a plot point that requires an explicable vessel. The film effectively draws us into suspending disbelief for a wide range of ideas – if Steve Trevor were required for Diana’s ill-advised wish, he could simply have returned, without he and Diana conspiring to rape a man who is not conscious of their activity.
