It can be tempting to dismiss Die Hard With a Vengeance as ‘one of those’ problematic movies, by virtue of it being the third instalment of a classic action franchise, launched in the problematic 1980s, and starring the often problematic Bruce Willis. While that categorisation is, in itself, fascinating and needing of exploration, the fact is that, against all odds, Die Hard With A Vengeance is a little more nuanced than it first appears, in terms of sexism in cinema.
