In the landscape of cinema, The Matrix is legend. In 1999, it broke new ground in both special effects, movie world-building, and in the fact that the story is an allegory for the Transgender experience. While it is, indeed, all of those thing things, the beauty of the The Matrix lies in the fact that it provides scope for the audience to derive multiple meanings from its premise, plot, and characters.
