Firstly, Bee is specifically denying autonomy to her male victim. She has decided that he will serve a “great purpose,” because to her, getting what she wants is the greatest possible purpose. Secondly, the fact that she is engaging in these specific actions, for these specific desires, in service of a deal with the Devil, creates an entirely new spin on the way the film deal with power dynamics between genders.
