perfect for him. She is almost nervous around him – wanting his undivided attention and becoming anxious whenever he leaves her sight. This is a relatable scenario, though, for a woman who is painfully aware of the fact that the man she loves has more love for his own ego than he does for her.

Her character arc in this film is about trying to exert her own authority over the situation. She is trying to be assertive, though it is not her natural way. She is, in a fundamental sense, trying to justify her occupation of that space. This is what leads to the inevitable violent conclusion, when his fans turn on her, because she is the third wheel in their relationship with Him. She is abused and cast aside, in favour of Him.
