Writer-director Darren Aronofsky loves dealing with big ideas, and the complex relationship that can be found between different existential themes. For this reason, mother! comes as no surprise. While not surprising, however, it does provide a fascinating glimpse into the way this male lens perceives the feminine within religion, art, and his own creative process.
