As a franchise, Predator is a historically testosterone-heavy property – both in front of, and behind the camera. Comprising 1987’s Predator, 1990’s Predator 2, 2010’s Predators, and now, 2018’s The Predator, each instalment is written and directed by men, with casts populated mainly by men, too. Even the Alien-Predator cross over movies – 2004’s Alien vs Predator, and 2007’s Alien vs Predator: Requiem – are written and directed exclusively by men.
