attempts to cover his tracks, when daughter Sophie starts having nightmares about Zoe and wakes asking questions. Without her knowledge or consent, William sedates her, carries her to the basement, hooks her up to his neuroscience equipment and erases a few more memories. This time, though, his wife Mona catches him in the act.

Then, we’re thrust into the final third of the movie. William’s boss at Bionyne – Jones (John Ortiz) – learns of William’s actions because Ed couldn’t bring himself to dispose of the family’s bodies. Jones then considers Mona, Matt and Sophie to be Bionyne property, and sends intimidating men to chase them down and bring them in to be experimented upon. The story then becomes about William trying to get his family back, as if he’s a hero.
