I’m not going to dissect Avengers: Infinity War as a whole at this stage, because it is a huge movie that should be experienced with as little prior knowledge as possible. I am going to scratch a particular itch I have had ever since seeing it on opening night, though – and that is, the Nebula problem. Nebula’s contribution to the film is ultimately significant, but very brief. The images and sounds used onscreen during her appearance make for deeply uncomfortable viewing, however. When viewed in the context of her character arc over multiple films, it becomes even more unsettling – and I feel compelled to explore that, from a feminist perspective.
