At the time of its release, the idea of 2013’s Man Of Steel being the foundation of an entirely new comic book movie universe was nothing more than the distant wish of DC fans. The Marvel Cinematic Universe had already established itself as the globally dominant superhero brand, and it seemed like wishful thinking to hope for a DC alternative. Four years on, and we have the beginnings of an epic film franchise, with Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Suicide Squad, and the first live-action Wonder Woman movie – all of which do a better job of inclusion and representation than any Marvel movie to date.
