a variety of accusations at the other, culminating in Celine announcing that she no longer loves Jesse, before departing for the waterfront restaurant area outside. After a time, Jesse follows her, and tries to win her over with a time-travelling role play game. Though initially resistant, Celine eventually acquiesces, and joins in the game. 

Each instalment in this film series has been critically acclaimed, and the trilogy as a whole has a legion of die-hard fans. But, how does it fare when viewed through a feminist lens? Pretty well, all things considered.

The important point to note here is that each film is essentially a two-hander. There are other, fleeting characters that drift in and out, but these films are very specifically focused on Jesse and Celine. That being the case, filmmaker Richard Linklate...
