Manchester-By-The-Sea is a curious one, for sure, because the subject of sexism is never far away from any aspect of it, but critical inspection of the movie seems to have generated a variety of responses in the wider world. From its inception, to its production, to the final cut of the film – Manchester-By-The-Sea is a well-crafted subject of discussion, if nothing else.

The film is set in a small Massachusetts coastal town, and sees Lee Chandler (Casey Affleck), travel back home due to the death of his older brother, Joe Chandler (Kyle Chandler).
