There is a great deal of value to be found in examining older films through the lens of modern feminism. It can reveal both the progress that some filmmakers have made, while highlighting the frustrating lack of the same from others. This is the dichotomy that becomes evident when we look at The Peacemaker – a big action movie with the soul of a political thriller.
The film is based on the short story One Point Safe, by Andrew Cockburn and Leslie Redlich Cockburn - with that source material being adapted by screenwriter Michael Schiffer.
