There are two pieces of information I must disclose before getting into the minutiae of The Girl On The Train, directed by Tate Taylor. Firstly, I have not read the book from which it was adapted (written by Paula Hawkins), so I came to the film with an entirely fresh palate. Secondly, I watched it the morning after Donald Trump was elected to be the 45th President of the United States of America - racist, misogynist, ableist, homophobic serial bankruptee, and proven liar, Donald Trump.
