It first appeared when she was twenty two. Like the annoying family member that shows up unexpectedly on your doorstep. She always had trouble saying no to people, so she had invited her new guest in and, for a few months, they had all been living together like a student exchange program. She, her boyfriend and her depression. Retrospectively, it hadn’t been that bad. Her new, dark friend hadn’t overextended her welcome. It had been tactful enough to occupy her only some hours of the day. 

Depression was kind of hip in the 90’s and not something to make a big fuss about. Her new Emo attitude had done wonders in her wardrobe and her music taste.
