First her phone, then her coffee, now her keys. Twice. She, always, used to drop things when she felt too hangover or too stressed out. And ,since yesterday she stayed up all night plotting a plan on how she was gonna tell her mother the inappropriate truth, she knew that her nerves were taking over.

She hasn’t felt that way ever since she broke up with Sam a few years ago. “You’re ending this because you feel too grounded?”, Sam had asked her. Back then she thought that “grounded” was another word for “boring”, even though she was majoring in English Literature. Now she knew better than that.
