  1. Wash rice and soak for 30 minutes.

  2. Put rice, ginger and water into a pot.

  3. Bowl for 1 hour until the rice becomes very soft and porridge like.


This is a basic recipe for rice congee to serve to children who have upset stomachs and it is very bland. For regular meals, you can add scallions, chicken or fish and a dash of salt.
