Recently, someone sent me a link to an article by an acknowledged marketing expert on the new business paradigm. He talked a lot about traditional versus non-traditional approaches to marketing before segueing into a section about the expectations of the modern consumer. Then, like an errant root across my walking path, the following paragraph made me stumble: “Be both available and easy to do business with 24.7.365 is the new 9-5. I want a friendly, intelligent, live human being to answer the phone when I call, and so does EVERY HUMAN BEING ON THE PLANET.”
