“Good morning,” he cries to vehicles and passersby. “I love you!”

Most everyone honks or waves at the elderly gentleman.

“Have a lovely day!” he says. “Have a good day.”

His name is Johnny Barnes and from roughly 3:45 to 10 a.m. every workday, rain or shine, you’ll find him waving to passing traffic and pedestrians at the Crow Lane roundabout in Hamilton, Bermuda. A retired railway electrician, Barnes has always been outgoing and gregarious.
