“Who’s ready to walk?”

“I am!” I declared with my fist raised in the air. My response surprised no one more so than it did me. I looked over at my buddy Carl, who only smiled back at me and shook his head.

“I thought you weren’t firewalking,” he said.

I shrugged. Carl knew of my interest in such events and had invited me to tag along. Reluctant at first, I soon found myself caught up in the excitement and notion of firewalking. Our guide for this unusual evening was noted firewalking instructor, Thomas Chadwick.
