“This might be a good one.”

I reached over and took the 45-rpm record from my brother. “Baby Love,” I said, reading the label. “That’s an odd name.”

“It’s by The Supremes,” he stated. “Let’s listen to it.”

I set the 45 on the turntable, carefully placed the tone arm and cranked the volume. The first thing we heard was crackling. This record had been listened to a lot. The song began with a couple beats and a female singing “Ooo.” It was a frothy little number with a catchy beat.

“I like it!” I declared when the song ended.
