Silvertree’s aura enveloped Elwin in the ensuing silence. Bone horrors and any remaining undead nearby disintegrated by his god's might, which left them alone. Hundreds fought for survival. Several hundred more were already dead because he asked them to fight. To make the sacrifice now when it could still matter. Still make a difference. 

Despite the longevity of his former race wielded, they could not comprehend the gods or the wars they fought. The lives they sacrificed to further their goals. So why did he choose to become a pawn?
