Several days had gone by in relative peace for Elwin. Erlan was opening up to him more the closer they got to his tribe.

When Elwin mentioned how his life after becoming a wolf had changed him. That freedom resonated with Erlan.

“I don’t understand the appeal of living in one place. I prefer the wilderness where I can roam with my tribe.”

Cailu snarled at Erlan.

 “How dare you!”

The scout lunged, fist clenched, causing Erlan to flinch backward and fall over. Alea grabbed Cailu and said, “You need to stop. Are you trying to get yourself killed?”

Onvyr body checked Alea as he unsheathed his blade. “We have had enough of this fool. Penelo deserves better than a nomad.”
