I shuffle around on the couch but ultimately get comfortable enough and do as she asks. "You're wasting your time doc, I haven't cried in years, and today won't be any different."
"That may be true, but humor me."
I grunt in response but settle in. Her soft voice, even and calm begins to my left. "You're lying in bed, staring up at the ceiling, she's just walked out on you."
She pauses but when I don't react she recovers and continues.
