"Mama," the youngest of her litter, cried out, "I'm cold."
"I know," she said pulling her closer to her furry chest. "I know you are. Let's go finish gathering our nuts, and then we can curl up and go to sleep for a while, would you like that?"
"Let's go, child, we can do this quickly and be warm soon enough." She turned and bound out of their burrow, encouraging her young to go faster. The ran through the trees and scampered around the forest floor. When they finally had enough, they returned their beds, and she snuggled up with her babies to sleep.
"See you when it's warmer."...
