there is still so much
i keep finding
new levels of pain
layers of hurt
i didn't think possible
how could they still exist
i keep digging, scraping
debriding dead flesh
revealing healed skin
a thin surface repeating
it catches me by surprise
it shouldn't
and i wonder
if i'll ever reach the end
