the detritus of my life
collects in corners
of closets
backs of drawers
bits of memories
i swore i'd want forever
to recall those oh-so-good times
the warm and fuzzy times
but i no longer need
physical prompts
to make me fondly smile
bent corners and faded print
soft paper and dusty trinkets
fill the tiny spaces
in my home
the aged alcoves
of my heart
