but what can those old timers know?
they are no oracles to fate

we choose our lives as best we can
each moment blessed by god's intent
but not determined beforehand -
our will alone decides the bent

delight in every path you take
discover joy within your soul
be sure to laugh for laughter's sake
know that the journey is the goal

may the angels sing your name
softly, sweetly, my newborn niece
