sense of loss
but i can't think
of anything i've misplaced
no thing is missing, yet
still my breath weighs
heavy inside my chest
my heart
pounds painfully
and the salt of unshed
tears burns behind
my eyes
what have i lost
except every second
that ticks
inexorably by
