The two humvees rolled up to the CIA's trailer in the middle of rush hour that evening. Not that rush hour meant a thing that close to the theater. The neighborhood had been evacuated of every living soul who wasn't Nightwatch-cleared. The dead space found emphasis in angry horns and the increased grumble of dozens of cars and trucks detouring from the main drag of 10th Street into the more compressed flows of vehicles north and south. The theater -- the Nexus of Worlds -- had become the eye of  a fantastic hurricane.
