The White One's world has never known God. Grace mulled that. He had no difficulty seeing Reiser's point. As that character from the Armageddon movie had said, "Scariest environment imaginable." Or something like that.

"So," he dragged from his mind, "God can know nothing of the White One or his -- its -- world, so neither can you."

Reiser put down her tea and wrinkled her brow. "That's about right. I know some stuff the White One told me, though."

"Go on."

"The White One has no idea of scale. Its universe, its whole univers...
