Climbing to the top. Claiming victory while leaving behind those who may have miss-stepped. It may sound like a competition to climb to the top of the mountain, but really it reminds me of working in a corporate office.

Recently I was reminded yet again that I am expendable. No, I wasn’t let go, but rather replaced on a project. But the worst part probably was that no one even bothered to tell me. I found out on my own. I shouldn’t be surprised I guess. I’ve been working long enough to know these things happen and unfortunately happen often.

But I suppose that doesn’t make things easier or it doesn’t eliminate the discouragement that I feel. In fact at this point in my career it makes me wonder if I have made any difference at all.  Part of me has tried no...
