It’s true what they say about motherhood; how it can swallow you whole, turn your whole world upside down, and make you forget who you used to be. I don’t mean any of this in a bad way, but it is truly a life changing event. 

I have always thought of myself as someone who likes to keep up on current affairs, likes to visit new places and know the rankings of my favorite professional sports teams. But lately I’ve found myself not keeping up with these things. I’ve tried, but my attempts are half hearted and unfrequent at best. I’m often a few days behind on the news cycle. I could probably count on my fingers and toes the number of sports games that I’ve watched this year. And as far the new hot spots in town, well, I’m clueless.
