I used to find it relatively easy to make friends. I was in social settings where I interacted with a large number of people and would have numerous  interactions daily in high school then followed by college. One of the things I miss most about college is the ability to walk down the hallway to talk to your friends. I miss the randomness of having someone nearby. Once I graduated from college I lived by myself for a while. While I did enjoy having my own space it was challenging at times, when I would spend a whole day without saying a word to anyone.
