If there was one word that I really despised during the early years of my career it had to be ‘networking’. From my personal experience, 'networking' usually takes place after work hours and often inclues a happy hour with appetizers and cocktails.

I really don’t like being put into situations where you are forced to meet new people. Despite my friendly and welcoming attitude, I’m actually quite shy when it comes to meeting new people and I really don’t like to introduce myself.
