I'm Not A Morning Person

I’ve known for a very long time that I’m not a morning person. I’ve probably known since the age of twelve or thirteen. I suppose at that age I still thought that I had a chance to grow out of it as an adult. I thought that it was merely a symptom of being a teenager, as most teenagers are known for sleeping late. But, alas, I am now an adult into my early thirties and I realize that this is just who I am.
Although now that I am an adult, I have subjected myself to the rules of American society which teaches us that the ‘early bird catches the worm.’ I do agree that there are advantages to waking early but most of these advantages are self-generated and not because I arrived at work early.
